In the numbers, downtempo, jazz, electronics, trip-hop and blues mix to create a highly unique sound, which, in combination with Ingrid Lang’s personal stories and observations, her use of language and her eerily beautiful singing, results in an incredibly atmospheric listening experience grows out.
Karl Stirner’s distorted zither lines, in combination with Sebastian Seidl’s rich synth surfaces and basses, create their own tonal aesthetics beyond conventional listening habits. With his minimalist drumming, Johannes Wakolbinger creates a rhythmic foundation that gives the lyrics enough room to breathe without sacrificing groove and drive. As a new band member, Lukas Lauermann has recently enriched the woschdog sound with his sound universe. The debut album “foin”, completed in October 2021 in a long-term collaboration, now comes up with nine originals. Stylistically, woschdog ventures into new territory, not least because of the unique instrumentation. After two years of working together, the band brought their ideas to Sixtus Preiss’ studio.
