Transition has announced a carbon-fibre framed version of the Patrol – the brand’s enduro bike, which features 160mm of suspension travel and mullet wheels.
The Patrol was updated in June 2021 in alloy, but carbon-framed models were missing from the line-up.
The entirety of the frame on the new bike is carbon fibre, including the rear triangle and rocker link.
Transition claims the carbon frame sees a weight reduction of 1.27kg over its alloy equivalent in an unspecified size and spec.
The Patrol features adjustable geometry via a set of flip chips at the lower shock mounts, as well as size-specific chainstay lengths.
It is generally uncommon to see manufacturers vary chainstay lengths across frames, although Norco and Santa Cruz are other brands to head down this route.
The Patrol also sports external rear-brake cable routing for ease of maintenance. The bike features fully guided housing for the dropper seatpost and rear derailleur housing.
Like the alloy model, the carbon Patrol has the ability to run up to 170mm of travel.
The new carbon frame will be available in Bonfire Red or Moonshadow, both with a matt finish.
The carbon Patrol will be available as both a frameset and a SRAM GX Eagle build, both said to be available later this year.
