The Cuban Popular Camping company announced that it expects to receive more than 300,000 vacationers during this month of August.
After two years with all its facilities closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Campismo Popular opened its doors this summer with “high demand” and “an extensive recreational and cultural program,” according to the state-run Agencia Cubana de Noticias news agency. (ACN).
The commercial director of that entity, Daryll Pírez Álvarez, assured ACN that around 200 thousand people were received last July.
Among the options that campers can enjoy are the offers of field trips, visits to historical and heritage sites, interaction in the communities and excursions to beaches, rivers and natural spaces of the Cuban geography.
In addition, giant campsites are prepared for all families, especially for the little ones.
According to Pírez, “the animation specialists programmed the activities taking into account young people, the main market segment of the modality”, and highlighted the enjoyment of children thanks to the rustic playgrounds, created with a base of wood and with elements recycled.
The directive highlighted that the 91 camping bases in operation seek the highest quality in accommodation, gastronomy and recreation services.
Regarding food, he exemplified that “they promote local linkages with producers, mini-industries and other forms of management”; In addition, he reported that each camping base has its own garden where some vegetables are grown.
Another element for this stage is the Naturally Together campaign, which according to Pírez is “an initiative whose purpose is to rescue the essences of Popular Camping since its inception, with the promotion of tents and the realization of bonfires and soups, among others.”
Finally, the information from the aforementioned media outlet recalls that although the summer stage extends until next September, the Campismo Popular facilities remain open throughout the year.
