Germany to replace Sikorsky CH-53K fleet with Boeing's Chinook helicopters & More News Here

The German army is bypassing Stratford-based Sikorsky’s plane line to buy 60 Chinook heavy-lift helicopters from Boeing.

According to a Reuters report, the Chinooks will replace Germany’s growing older CH-53K fleet, which dates again to the Nineteen Seventies. German Chief of Defense Eberhard Zorn cited the worldwide use of the Chinooks in making its determination, noting that greater than 500 Chinooks are utilized by the U.S. Army and European air forces, thus offering simpler entry to spare elements, whereas the CH-53K is just utilized by the U.S. Marines and Israel.

Germany pays $4.29 billion for 45 to 60 heavy-lift helicopters, which might be delivered between 2023 and 2029.
