Sam Ryder continues to promote his Eurovision participation across Europe in television interviews across the continent.
Since returning from the last in-person Eurovision pre-party of the 2022 selection season, Sam Ryder has continued to promote himself ahead of the contest next month in Turin. During the past couple of days the singer has appeared on Greek television including in an interview with MEGA TV.
Of note is that the singer has taken part in a television interview with the smallest competing country in the competition, San Marino. The singer was interviewed on Monday by San Marino RTV, you can watch the interview in full here.
The United Kingdom is organising one of its largest promotional campaigns ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest in the past decade. The singer has travelled across Europe to a number of pre-parties as well as performed on TV in both Bulgaria and Serbia.
Who is Sam Ryder?
Sam Ryder was born in 1989 in Maldon, England. Sam began his music career in 2009 as a singer and guitarist session player for several groups. He rose to fame on TikTok, having accumulated 12 million followers for his song covers, including songs by Adele and Justin Bieber. He first posted on the app during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in March 2020, and by the end of the year, he had secured a record contract with Parlophone and a management contract with TaP Music.
Sam was internally selected to sing for the United Kingdom at the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest by the BBC, who worked alongside TaP Music to select the entrant. In January, TaP has revealed that “an incredible mixture of both established, emerging and brand new talent” were among the artists shortlisted. He will sing “Space Man”.

The United Kingdom debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1957 and holds the record for the most consecutive appearances in the contest. To date, the UK has won the contest a total of five times, with their first victory coming in 1967 and their latest in 1997. The UK holds the record for the most second-place finishes in the contest, having been runner-up a total of 15 times. Since 2000 the UK has finished within the top 10 only twice, this being in 2002 with Jessica Garlick and in 2009 with Jade Ewen.
