A citizen was sentenced to 17 years and four months in prison after admitting to being the author of the death of a taxi driver on Manuel Piar Avenue in San Félix.
D. González, 21 years old, shot the victim in the head on the night of October 29, 2013 when he requested a transfer in order to strip him of his belongings.
González was accompanied by two other people and demanded that the taxi driver turn towards some sheds while pointing a shotgun at him. The driver refused, to which the perpetrator responded with a shot to the head.
After investigation work, the Scientific, Criminal and Criminalistics Investigations Corps (Cicpc), arrested the accused in his home, who also had a marijuana wrapper in his possession.
Sentence
The representatives of the First and Fourteenth Prosecutor’s Offices of the Second Circuit ratified the accusation against González, and charged him with qualified homicide, aggravated robbery and treachery, concealment of a firearm and trafficking of narcotic substances in the form of concealment.
The defendant admitted the facts and the Second Control Court of Puerto Ordaz sentenced him to 17 years in prison and will serve it in the Oriente Penitentiary Center known as “El Dorado”.
