The so-called “fury of Agramonte” explained that since the beginning of May she had requested her release, but it was not granted and, instead, they asked her to finish her cycle until the Central American contest, to be held at the end of August in the Bahamas.
“And it turns out that I came to find out about my substitution on television, surprisingly, when before they had not accepted my release. Tell me,” he told Osendi in an extended interview.
Moreno tried to defend himself against the terms “despotic and rude” that have been used by several athletes against him. In addition, he explained that the escape of athletes is not his responsibility, because that is a problem in all sports, in the country.
“Nobody talks about the historical moment that our sport is experiencing in terms of the exodus, are athletics representatives only those who have taken another course? The stampede of baseball players, wrestlers, karate fighters, boxers, unconventional athletes (Paralympic athletes), is it also my fault?”, specified the former Commissioner.
“The exodus of athletes is easy to blame on me; the difficult thing is to answer how many things I have put on the table regarding the subject, who pays the prizes and when? ”, she added.
Yipsi said that many of the escaped athletes had not received their prize money for years. One of them, the former Cuban world champion, the discus thrower Yaimé Pérez, who had been waiting for a payment for three years.
