“I am at home by myself with the kids, my husband could not come. He is not a Ukrainian citizen, so he went back to his own country, but we are preparing documents for his visa that is required and we hope to be reunited soon.”

Oleksandra Babich, a 21-year-old journalism graduate, got here to the occasion along with her brother after seeing lots of Ukrainian youngsters struggling since transferring right here.

Jackie mentioned she needed to do one thing for Ukrainians residing in Ireland.

“I simply thought there are such a lot of Ukrainians right here residing in Ireland that deserved one thing to make them happy, particularly the youngsters.

“I am a secondary school teacher, so I am very aware of the mental health issues with teenagers, and this gives them a break from what they are going through, to have some fun.”

Her buddy Collette Talbot, who helped out on the day, has been offering help to Ukraine and has travelled there 3 times in the previous couple of months to take folks throughout the border. She will journey there once more on Friday in the hope of getting extra refugees throughout the border.
