SAO PAULO, June 30 (Reuters) – Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro wouldn’t have the option to control how his supporters react, his son stated when requested if Brazil may see the equal of the Jan. 6, 2021, assault on the U.S. Capitol if election ends in October are disputed.

The feedback by Senator Flavio Bolsonaro, who’s operating his father’s re-election marketing campaign, in a newspaper interview on Thursday are unlikely to ease mounting international considerations concerning the presidential election.

Bolsonaro, a far-right former military captain, trails leftist former President Luiz Inacio da Silva within the polls and has repeatedly floated the concept he might not settle for any consequence during which he loses.

In the O Estado de S. Paulo interview, Flavio Bolsonaro was requested whether or not Brazil may see a repeat of the Jan. 6 riots, when supporters of U.S. President Donald Trump attacked the U.S. Capitol.

Flavio Bolsonaro stated his father, who idolizes Trump, would by no means inform his supporters what actions to take, however stated he wouldn’t have the option to control their reactions.
