Viviana Canosa's resignation from A24: the forceful statement from Grupo América – Up Jobs News

Friday night, Viviana Canosa refused to drive Viviana with you by the screen of A24because, as it turned out, they did not allow him to air a report on Sergio Massa. Hours later, confirmed from his Twitter account, with a harsh release, that the program came to an end. After the news of his resignation, Grupo América published a statement referring to the scandal.

The journalist Marcela Pagano was in charge of reading the Grupo América statement on the air. “In the face of the profuse diffusion of street videos taken by strangers with cell phones, generating escraches with violence not only verbal but also physical to public officials, politicians and leaders in general and after uploading to social networks, the company has made the decision not to spread the same”, they specified in the letter.

Along the same lines, they argued the reason for their decision: “This is due to the agitation that these strangers cause with their attacks at a time in which the country requires the collaboration of all political forces and society in general to maintain social peace and respect for institutions”.

After not going on the air with her program, the host made a statement on Twitter and announced: “Tonight our cycle is over live with you by A24. We have had differences with the channel regarding the notion of freedom of expression. We believe that defending freedom is also defending a basic institution”.

In another tweet, he added: “We also believe that defending institutions and people are different matters.. We also have a difference with the channel regarding the notion of violence. In our opinion, what generates violence is poverty, indigence, unemployment, inflation and all the disasters that we will spare ourselves mention. We are not naive. We know that communication amplifies and influences. But we do not confuse the problem with the symptom. They are not the same”.

Expanding on the reason for her decision, the journalist remarked: “Our commitment is with the facts and with the truth. Our opinions and editorial line are solely our own.and we have always been willing to bear the costs of defending them.”

Before finishing his release, which signed his name and those of Juan Manuel Dragani, Ezequiel Spillman, Jorge Giacobbe and Andres Bombillar, he said: “We thank A24 for giving us a screen for a year and a half, and all the channel workers for the quality of your work and your love. We can be right or wrong. But always free and worthy. Thank you for joining us every night.”

The repercussions after the posting of the driver were not long in coming. Mauricio Macri was one of them. “We cannot accept any type of censorship of the press, not even that which is concealed with good intentions.. It is a throwback to ignorance, a punishment that promotes silence. We accept the cost of being free or we accept the consequences of not being free. I am with freedom”he wrote on his Twitter.
