She is currently 18 weeks and they are about to know the sex.
As Michelle Lewin herself acknowledges, this pregnancy is something that both she and her husband, Jimmy Lewin, have been wanting for a long time. A process that has not been easy, especially due to the serious health problems that her husband has gone through in recent times.
The Venezuelan’s partner suffered acute liver and kidney failure and heart failure with an ascending aortic aneurysm, for which he had to be admitted to an emergency and underwent several operations to save his life.
The fitness expert underwent surgery twice in less than six months last year.
During this hard recovery process, Michelle was not separated from her life and work partner for a single moment.
“His health is excellent. He has recovered 100%. He had a meeting with the nephrologist and told her that it was the last time they saw each other, ”the coach tells us about Jimmy’s state of health.
After this great scare, it seems that life is smiling at them again, and now both are very excited in the sweet expectation of their first baby.
Congratulations on your pregnancy! How many weeks are you and how are you feeling?
Many thanks. I’m now 18 weeks. I should probably say I’ve been throwing up every day, but honestly, if it wasn’t for my period stopping and my belly getting a little bigger, I wouldn’t know I was pregnant.
How did you find out about the news and how did you share it with your husband?
My period has never been very regular in my life, and being a few weeks late or early has been very normal for me. But when I went to Venezuela a couple of months ago, I caught covid on the flight. So the day after I arrived I went to get a second covid test and thought I might as well get a pregnancy test while I was there. And he tested positive on both tests! i told jimmy [que la prueba era positiva] and he had mixed emotions as i have this history with irregular period and many times i have suspected i might be pregnant and honestly [yo] I also had doubts. Fortunately, my uncle is an obstetrician-gynecologist in Venezuela and we went to his clinic and did an ultrasound, and there he was. With beats and everything! That was undoubtedly a great moment and we were both in shock.
Do you already know the sex of the baby?
That will be exciting. We’re pretty sure it’s a boy since he’s bigger than average for the time he is.
This is undoubtedly news of absolute happiness after a hard stage in their lives. How is Jimmy’s health? Is he already recovered? We see it very well!
His health is excellent. He has recovered 100%. Yesterday he had a meeting with the nephrologist and told her that it was the last time they saw each other. And his heart is very well recovered, his liver is completely recovered, his kidney is as if she had never had to go through dialysis; something that supposedly never happens with a failed kidney. So it’s a miracle.
Could it be said that this baby is the light at the end of the tunnel? Is a new stage in their lives beginning?
This [el embarazo] It is what we wanted for many years, something that was not easy at all to be honest. Especially since Jimmy came so close that he wouldn’t survive. This is definitely the light in the tunnel.
What lessons do they learn after all the comings and goings to the hospital and the long recovery processes?
Nothing is for granted. What you have now you may not have tomorrow. It’s too easy not to appreciate little things like getting up in the morning, being with your loved ones in good health, the power to breathe or walk, enjoying everything life has to offer, and sometimes you don’t realize how lucky you are. we are until it is too late.
It sounds so cliche, and I don’t blame anyone for getting bored listening to it over and over again. It is almost impossible to understand before it is too late. I can tell you something, I am sure that everything that happens in our lives is not by chance, everything has a purpose and they are tests of God that he puts on us to understand, change and surrender.
Because one thing I learned is that when you let go and leave it to the will of God, the Lord will take care of it. Jimmy managed to get out of these, 30 doctors did not believe in him and today they see him and laugh. They have called it a true miracle.
Now let’s focus on your pregnancy, how have you adapted your exercise and eating routine to this new stage?
Eating healthy and exercising is a lifestyle for me, so I haven’t had any problem staying out of that rut completely. Certainly my training has changed. I am more careful when exercising, training with less weight than normal, always listening to my body. Regarding food, honestly I have not had crazy cravings, so far they are very normal. And when Jimicit @ feeds him, he leans more towards carbs than sweets, so I always indulge him.
What expectations do you have of motherhood?
Well, it is my first time in this wonderful process that every woman dreams of, so as a good Pisces I spend my time dreaming and imagining that in 5 months I will have my baby in my arms; and my husband and I have a great advantage, which is that we both work from home. We have already discussed how we will do it and who will get up at night and who will do their homework in the morning. But we will soon find out how that will work in practice and not in theory. However, my goal is to be the best mother I can be and I’m sure Jimmy will be an amazing father.
Have other moms given you any advice that is being useful to you before the arrival of your baby?
If you listen to other couples, the first thing they tell you is “get ready, your lives are going to change”, or “take the opportunity to sleep now that this is over”, etc, etc. At first I was listening to everyone. But lately I have a problem to keep hearing more information.
Depending on who you talk to, there are tons of opinions on how to raise a baby and how to be a good mother. In these moments of my life I feel prepared and believe me that I will do my best to raise this baby with a lot of love.
What did you learn from your mom that you are going to put into practice now?
A lot of things. Among them, being a warrior because being a single mother of three children, she never abandoned us and protected us above all things.
Finally, how do you think you will pass on your Venezuelan culture and traditions to your baby?
I will raise my baby as Venezuelan as I can. Venezuela has a fantastic culture with wonderful traditions. All of that will be implemented and taught even though we live in Miami.
Although they are very far [la cultura y tradiciones venezolanas] of the Swedish Viking culture and traditions that my husband will surely raise our baby with. The result of this contrast and mix will be quite interesting, poor baby will have a mommy speaking Spanish and a daddy speaking Swedish!
