The United States Ambassador, Mark Stanleyvisited the Loma Campana deposit for the first time, accompanied by the president of YPF, Paul Gonzalezthe CEO, Paul Julianand the governor of Neuquén, Omar Gutierrez.
During the visit, Stanley highlighted the potential of Vaca Muerta: “Argentina has the energy to supply the world, the country has what the world needs.”
“It is an honor and a thrill to be here. Although work has been done on this for several years, it can be palpably perceived that this area is about to take off,” she added. In addition, the ambassador highlighted the joint work between the United States and Argentina to achieve the development of this formation.
During the tour, the diplomat and officials from the flag oil company visited a drilling rig and the Loma Campana crude oil treatment plant, where he was able to learn the details of the company’s plans for the formation.
The president of YPF, Paul Gonzalez, thanked the ambassador for the visit. “The ambassador was at Y-Tec a few days ago and there we agreed on this field visit. We are thinking of promoting the development of Vaca Muerta with the United States, of seeking new investment horizons. It is very good that it comes to the land where it is produced”, he expressed.

Today, YPF’s unconventional developments are the most important outside the United States and its production already represents almost 30% of the company’s total, according to the oil company.
For this year, the company foresees investments for some USD 1,600 million in Vaca Muerta alone.
