East Saturday, August 6, at 7:00 p.m.at the Cine Lumiere Cultural Center, Vélez Sarsfield 1027, will premiere on documentary film “Angelita and I” made by the local production company “7 1/2 Contents”. The screening will be with free admission.
The short film that marks the debut of the musician and composer German Becker As a documentary filmmaker, he recounts the life of the tango singer Angelita de la Mata.
It is also the first cinematographic work dedicated to vindicating a tango woman from Rosario that is produced in our city.
Died in 2006Angelita de la Mata was a star figure in the Rosario shows who knew how to captivate the public during her 30-year professional career.
Temperamental singer, radio host, comedy actress, the figure of Angelita comes to life more than ever in this work that Becker made with unpublished archive material, testimonies from family and friends.
The short film written, directed and with original music by Germán Becker shows a little-known facet of the singer who, due to life circumstances, decides to deliver a trunk where she keeps her memories. Discovering them is going through the deepest experiences and feelings of a woman who gracefully faced the adversities of destiny.
This short film will be presented as part of the cycle “Documentary Logs” where other short films on different themes will also be premiered, made by young filmmakers under the coordination of Professor Paula Peña.
