Originally, the title started its development as the third part of the Dark Cloud series. Despite good ratings, Rogue Galaxy has flown a bit under the radar. The reason for this could be the very late western release in 2007. By then, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 were already out, and Rogue Galaxy was also up against Final Fantasy XII, released that same year.
