The cities of Stockholm and New Sweden will hold their annual elections and town meetings in mid-June.
NEW SWEDEN and STOCKHOLM, Maine — The cities of Stockholm and New Sweden will hold their annual elections and town meetings in mid-June.
Stockholm elections will happen from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, on the Stockholm Community Center, 62 School St. The town will hold its annual assembly locally middle the next night at 7 p.m.
Johnny Whitson is operating unopposed for a three-year time period on the town’s selectboard, which has just one emptiness. Whitson shouldn’t be at the moment on the selectboard.
Residents will even elect a town consultant to the RSU 39 college board, which Stockholm is a part of. Current board member Lindsey Theriault is operating unopposed for that seat.
New Sweden will hold its election on June 14. Voting will happen from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the town workplace, at 50 Station Road. The town’s annual assembly will happen at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 16, within the town workplace.
Selectboard incumbent Sven Bondeson is operating for an additional three-year time period. Donald Cote can be on the poll.
The town has a one-year time period accessible on the selectboard. Since there aren’t any candidates, residents will vote by means of a write-in poll.
Current college committee member Laurie Spooner is operating unopposed.
Both New Sweden and Stockholm indicated that their finances warrants will likely be accessible at their town places of work seven days prior to the town meetings.
