Stansted Airport: Jet2 holidays launch their first flight to Sardinia in Italy from Essex airport & More News Here

A journey agency has launched its first flights to a brand new vacation hotspot from Stansted Airport. Jet2 have been celebrating the first flights to depart the airport for Sardinia in Italy.

The first flight from Jet2 to Sardinia left the airport on Sunday (May 15), and now future flights to the situation may be booked. Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean sea, and is positioned west of the Italian Peninsula, north of Tunisia and instantly south of the French island of Corsica.

Stansted Airport shared the information of the brand new flights on their social media channels on Sunday. The airport has been having fun with extra passengers utilizing the venue following the whole easing of Covid-19 restrictions earlier this yr.

A spokesman for the airport stated on Sunday: “Say hello Sardinia with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays which took off on their first flight today. This dreamy island escape has a distinctly Italian feel. The snow-white sand sloping into glimmering turquoise waters is its signature style and makes it the ultimate beach heaven…

“Fly into Olbia and uncover the attractive Costa Smeralda with weekly flights accessible this summer season up to and together with the sixteenth October.”

The news comes off the back of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays offering a programme of flights and holidays to Dalaman from London Stansted Airport for this summer. With up to 12 weekly flights departing this summer, local holidaymakers have great choice and flexibility when it comes to reaching Marmaris and getting more bang for their buck.
