In an announcement, the PSD mentioned the wage adjustment would take impact from 1 August.
“These adjustments will enable the Civil Service to continue to attract and retain its fair share of talent,” the PSD mentioned.
“Officers in the Management Executive Scheme, Management Support Scheme and Corporate Support Scheme will receive salary adjustments of between five and 10 per cent.”
It mentioned that these within the Operations Support Scheme (OSS) would obtain larger changes of between six and 14 per cent.
“This is in line with the call by the Tripartite Workgroup on Lower-Wage Workers to uplift the salaries of lower-wage workers,” the Division mentioned.
“Alongside these adjustments, PSD has been working with the Amalgamated Union of Public Employees to redesign OSS officers’ jobs, improve career progression, and raise productivity in the long run.”
Further explaining the adjustment, the PSD mentioned the Public Service periodically reviewed salaries and adjusted them when essential to preserve tempo with the market.
“Revisions to the various schemes were last made in 2014, and since then, salary levels in the market have gone up,” it mentioned.
