SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/Asia News Network): A 31-year-old Singaporean man was arrested on Monday (May 9) for suspected drug trafficking, after more than 4kg of illicit drugs have been seized from a resort room within the neighborhood of Bras Basah Road.
These drugs have an estimated avenue worth of $177,000, the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) stated in a press release on Wednesday.
During the raid, CNB officers seized a complete of about 65g of Ice, 2,155g of hashish, 5g of ketamine, 360g of Ecstasy tablets, a number of LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) stamps, 1,310g of Erimin-5 tablets and 700g of tampered sachets of beverage combine believed to comprise managed drugs.
The quantity of hashish seized is ample to feed the habit of 307 abusers, CNB stated.
If an individual is discovered responsible of trafficking more than 500g of hashish, she or he could face the necessary dying penalty.
On Monday night, CNB officers needed to power entry into the resort room after the man refused to adjust to their lawful orders, the bureau stated.

Superintendent Aaron Tang, director of CNB’s intelligence division, stated: “It is not surprising that drug trafficking syndicates have continued to exploit various novel drug concealment methods to evade CNB’s persistent enforcement actions.
“In this operation, we noticed how syndicates have tampered milk tea sachets to cover their drugs. CNB will spare no efforts in launching well-timed operations to stop these drugs from contaminating our society.”
“We will even perform our obligation to stop unscrupulous offenders from engaging the unsuspecting public and youth to devour these drugs,” he added.
Under Section 5 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, it’s an offence for an individual, on his or her personal behalf, or on behalf of another particular person, whether or not or not that different particular person is in Singapore, to visitors in a managed drug, provide to visitors in a managed drug; or to do or provide to do any act preparatory to or for the aim of trafficking in a managed drug.
