The recording of a music video of an urban artist ended with two people wounded by gunshots in the vicinity of the Costanera Centerin Providence.
Preliminary information from Carabineros reported that the incident occurred this Friday afternoon after a fight arose between those attending the event, who ran towards the shopping center. According to reports, the audiovisual piece was recorded by the artist Piero 47.
“Approximately 200 young people participated in an activity by a national artist in the Parque Titanium sector. Once this activity ends, they begin to transit towards the Providencia sector through Andrés Bello, Tobalaba and Vitacura. As a result of this large number of people, some young people began to damage public and private property, which caused a conflict between them and a fight was generated,” said Carabineros Major Emilio Hermosilla, operational chief of the 19th Police Station. Providence.
According to Hermosilla, as a result of this altercation, subjects took advantage of the moment to carry out crimes of robbery with violence against two young people -a minor and an adult over 18-, who were assisted at the Costanera Center. The teenagers were injured with a knife, while one of the security guards of the shopping center was injured by a mob with blows from his feet and fists, at a time when they were helping the victims.
The injured were treated by medical personnel. The minor was transferred to the Calvo Mackenna Hospital, while the two adults were referred to the Salvador Hospital. They are out of vital risk.
According to witnesses, the situation led the shopping center to close its entrances momentarily, which generated concern among the attendees, who spread the situation through videos uploaded to social networks. According to Carabineros, no robberies had been reported inside the compound after the disturbances.
From Costanera Center, they reaffirmed that “the events that culminated in two injured youths occurred outside the mall,” and that company personnel helped the injured youths, who entered the premises, and that both were treated by paramedics and Samu personnel. “The venue is operating normally,” they concluded.
The records collected by police personnel will be made available to the Public Ministry to start an investigation to clarify the facts.
