Matanzas, Aug 7 (RHC) The President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, led a meeting this Sunday in Matanzas to check the actions to confront the fire at the Super Tanker Base.
The meeting was also attended by Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, Vice President Dr. Roberto Morales Ojeda, the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in the territory, Susely Morfa González and other authorities of the province.
During the meeting, it was learned about the evacuation of more than 520 cubic meters of fuel during the early hours of the morning. Likewise, the arrival, very promptly, of aid from Venezuela and Mexico to our country was highlighted.
“It is a sign of solidarity towards the Cuban people,” said the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party.
For his part, the Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, called for not wasting a minute in the work to try to put out the fire and take advantage of all the skills and knowledge of personnel from Mexico and Venezuela.
Four flights from Mexico and one from Venezuela arrived in Cuba in the last few hours, with help and technical assistance to deal with the incident, reported Transportation Minister Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila.
The head of CITMA, Elba Rosa, reported that weather conditions favor clouds of smoke continuing to flow over the northern sector of the provinces of Matanzas, Mayabeque and Havana.
For his part, the Minister of Public Health, José Ángel Portal Miranda, reported on the status of the people injured during the fire where 122 have been treated, 98 medical discharges were given and 24 people remain hospitalized, of them 5 critical, three seriously and 16 care
