The President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, swore in new members of the Ministerial Cabinet this Friday night, after ratifying Hannibal Torres as head of the Council of Ministers.
In a ceremony held at the Government Palace, the president took an oath to Miguel Rodriguez as the new head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then to Alexander Salaswho leaves the Ministry of Culture to move to the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion.
He also swore at the Ministry of Transport and Communications, Geiner Alvaradowho was Minister of Housing, Construction and Sanitation. Cesar Paniagua will take his place in that ministry and was sworn in by the president.
Likewise, the head of state took an oath to Kurt Burneo as the new economy minister Betssy Chavez as head of the Ministry of Culture.
Ratification of Anibal Torres
The swearing-in of these six ministers comes after President Pedro Castillo ratified as head of the Ministerial Cabinet Hannibal Torreswho last week announced that he was making his position available.
Through his Twitter account, the president explained that the head of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers he promised to “continue working for our country”.
On the eve, the president had announced that he would make changes in the Ministerial Cabinet after the announcement of Hannibal Torres for which he made a call to the political class for the formation of this new team.
“I summon the political actors, the political class, civil society, the organizations that, as of today, I am going to make decisions concerning seeing the Cabinet. I am sure that, tomorrow, we are going to swear in this cabinet,” he told reporters.
