The senator of the Historical Pact, Cordobapublished a letter addressed to the elected president and vice president, Gustavo Petro Y France Marquez.
In the letter, Córdoba assured that with the coming to power of the Historical Pact he felt “happy” with that “big step to the left and for the democratic sectors of the country”.
The senator also pointed out that, as a woman of the left, she feels represented by the incoming government. And he expressed his willingness to support him from his seat. “I return then to continue this work accompanying you.”
Córdoba recalled high points of her political career, such as when she was kidnapped by the paramilitary leader alias Carlos Castaño and pointed out to former president Andrés Pastrana to keep an “accomplice silence”.
She also recalled when she was subjected to illegal surveillance by the now-defunct DAS, which hacked her communications.
In the final part, he reminded the heads of government of the duties they have with the voters who elected them. He stated that they will have to overcome the social crisis that the country is going through after last year’s protests.
“His mandate is due to the dissatisfied people and he must respond. My hopes for change are still with you, ”he detailed.
The friction between Petro and Piedad
Despite the praise of the congresswoman of the Historical Pact, his relationship with Petro has not been the best and, in fact, it has had several ups and downs this year.
