Santiago de Cuba (Prensa Latina) New natural products will incorporate the Oriente Pharmaceutical Laboratory (LBF) into its portfolio, as part of a development strategy that today prioritizes contributions to the national health system and its drug needs.
Sources from the entity, belonging to Biocubafarma, reported that these lines are tablets with extracts of cane santa, passionflower, calendula and anamú, with beneficial properties against high blood pressure, anxiety and the immune system, among other positive effects.
They indicated that these preparations are in the process of approval and registration by the Center for State Control of medicines, equipment and medical devices in the country.
Another novelty of the LBF is the incorporation of the tablet derived from brewer’s yeast, which has components linked to the complete vitamin B complex, nutrients, mineral salts and essential amino acids, which improve nutritional levels.
A new concentrate plant for hemodialysis is among the Laboratory’s investments, where the production of parenteral solutions, highly demanded by hospitals and other care centers, was expanded and technologically transformed.
A significant benefit of this virtually new unit is that the antibiotics metronidazole, cycloproxacin and ringer’s with lactate, widely used in the care of various diseases, are incorporated into the serums manufactured there.
In recent days, the factory for oral rehydration salts and powders was inaugurated, which will provide the country with these necessary products based on modern technology.
At 50 years old, the LBF has become a leader in the pharmaceutical industry in eastern Cuba and an important supporter of those productions whose growth is the highest priority of the national economy.
