Thanks to Nu-Way Market and the good people of Los Molinos and surrounding areas, PETS, or Providing Essentials for Tehama Shelter, had its most successful Paw Prints fundraiser to date in its seventh year running.
PETS is grateful for the support of the Nu-Way Market. Checkers exhibited great enthusiasm for informing the public about the shelter PETS’ mission, which is, in part, to improve the welfare of homeless, neglected and abused animals in Tehama County.
Employees made sure to let people know that for each $5 Paw Print purchased people earned a chance to win a handmade quilt displayed in the store all month. The quilt was made by Sandra Merhoff won by Lori Sims. Incentive baskets were awarded to two checkers — Bre Hope-Winning and Patricia Kelley-Wesley, who shared her basket with the whole crew, for outstanding sales.
The quilt was presented Wednesday to Sims, of Corning by Merhoff. PETS volunteers gathered some of the Nu-Way employees together to thank them as well. The basket winners were presented with their incentive baskets previously.
Proceeds from PETS fundraisers go toward the spay and neuter of public and shelter dogs and cats, multiple adoption programs to ease folks into adopting through the shelter, medical care including surgeries, medicines, long term treatments through the shelter, social media education and information including adoptable and lost and found pets from the shelter and support of animal rescues.
