Another of the letters analyzed by the head of state – according to sources in this newspaper – is that of Betty Sotelo Bazán, current deputy minister of finance.

Huanca Atencio acknowledged to El Comercio, last February, that, after the departure of Congresswoman Katy Ugarte (today in the Magisterial Bloc) from the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations, the president “was kind enough to call me and told me that I assumed”. The Minister of Culture, in statements to the press outside the Government Palace, said that he does not know if the new team would be sworn in today, because “this is an issue that is being worked on” by President Castillo y Torres, who “it is still in operation”.
He added that he would “never” say no to the country, if the president offers him to work for Peru, no matter where.

On the other hand, the Alliance for Progress party, through a statement, said that he will not be part of the new Cabinet and also warned his militants that if they accept any position in the Executive they will be expelled. According to Canal N, this statement was made after the president had proposed to the former first vice president Marisol Espinoza, part of the ranks of the apepism, to assume the PCM and she had rejected it.
Espinoza is currently also an adviser to the head of Congress, Lady Camones.
