Incidents: Club Atlético Osasuna’s last pre-season game played in Anduva.
In the first half, Jagoba Arrasate’s team tried to take possession of the ball and create chances with arrivals from both sides, but Anduva’s team was very solid in defensive tasks and barely conceded opportunities to the Navarrese. In addition, the team led by Joseba Etxeberria threatened on several occasions with long trips behind the red defence, although none successfully reached their destination. Before the half hour mark was up, Mirandés took the lead after an unfortunate action by Aridane that ended with the ball in the back of the net. After the 1-0, Miranda’s team took a step back and gave the ball to an Osasuna who could not get their hands on the defensive network, reaching the break with the local advantage.
After the restart, Osasuna came out with one more march and pushed Mirandés towards their domains. Chimy Ávila threatened with a shot from inside the box that went over the crossbar and, just when game time had expired, Darko took advantage of a messy play inside the box to equalize. With the tie, El Sadar’s team went further and showed their superiority against a Mirandés who kept trying.
In the 68th minute, Rubén Peña had a very clear chance that did not end in a goal. The fast red player was planted in the heads-up against Herrero and tried to beat him with a Vaseline, but the goalkeeper did not give up, he held on and managed to save the ball. The Navarrese continued to insist and, fifteen minutes from the end of the match, Rober Ibáñez did not waste a ball that remained dead after a good intervention by Herrero after a shot by Chimy Ávila to send it to the back of the net, making a 1-2 that was definitive. In the final moments, Chimy Ávila tried again, but was met with a good response from Herrero, which meant that the scoreboard did not move again.
Thus, Club Atlético Osasuna put the end of its preseason with a victory against Club Deportivo Mirandés. The next match for Jagoba Arrasate’s men will be next Friday, August 12, at 9:00 p.m. in El Sadar against Sevilla Fútbol Club in what will be the first matchday of LaLiga Santander 2022/23.
