After a couple of delays due to Covid, Washington Capitals center Nicklas Backstrom and longtime girlfriend Liza Berg finally tied the knot on Saturday in Sweden.
The event was held at the Skytteholm Hotel & Conference, in Ekerö, by the shores of Lake Mälaren, just a 30-minute drive west of downtown Stockholm, Sweden.

Among those in attendance included hockey stars Andre Burakovsky, Marcus Johansson, T.J. Oshie, Carl Hagelin, John Carlson, Lars Eller, Peter Forsberg Elias Lindholm, Calle Jarnkrok and trainer Andreas Ohgren,

Ovechkin and his wife then attended Dmitry Olorv’s birthday party on Saturday night, going directly from the airport to the celebration.

Backstrom was not the only Swedish NHL star who got married on Saturday. Filip Forsberg married his American girlfriend, Erin Alvey. William Karlsson and Emily Ferguson also got married in Las Vegas with a total of 150 guests invited.
