He also announced his Minister of Housing

As for the Ministry of Housing, it will be in charge of Catherine Velasco. The official has experience in public policies and urban management and was part of Petro’s joint team on issues related to social development.

“The Minister of Housing will be Catalina Velasco Campuzano, a woman expert in habitat and planning. One of her responsibilities will be to lead a true public policy for social housing in Colombia,” Petro wrote on her Twitter account.

Previously, the Liberal Party had nominated the former representative to the Chamber Jose Luis Correa as the new Minister of Housing, but Petro’s team returned his resume. The reasons would have been due to his lack of experience in the area, taking into account that the applicant is only 31 years old and is a surgeon from the University of Caldas.
