The Municipal Chamber of Caroní approved in first discussion two ordinances in the extraordinary session held this Thursday.
The first point discussed was the draft ordinance that creates the municipal technical office for the comprehensive regularization of urban or peri-urban land tenure, and the alienation processes of ejido land.
Faced with this first point, councilor Dioneri Fuentes commented to scoop that “this ordinance will eliminate the bureaucratic processes related to the delivery of land titles. The process of obtaining and approving titles will be streamlined.”
While in second place, the reform project of the ordinance in management and integral management of the collection and treatment of residues and solid waste was approved.
This opens the possibility that a private company will be in charge of collecting garbage in the municipality, instead of the state company, Supraguayana.
“Two months ago the chamber began discussing this and today, after so much time, this article is included, giving Mayor Tito Oviedo the authority to ensure that the solid waste collection service is carried out by joint ventures.”
In this way, the bidding will begin by various companies to offer their services so that, hand in hand with the mayor’s office, they will be in charge of the service.
Present at the session were Milagros Marcano, president of the municipal chamber; Roberth Rivas, vice president of the chamber and different councilors of the municipality.
In the session, another important point was a request made by the director of municipal firefighters, in which she requests a special session, for the celebration of the firefighter’s day on August 20.
