15 thousand homes are now connected to the National Broadband Ireland network, with 70 thousand more in a position to adopt its services.
NBI is rolling out high-speed fibre broadband under the Government’s National Broadband Plan.
Those who are now connected are guaranteed minimum speeds of 5 hundred megabits per second.
The plan has been described by those in charge as a 2.7 billion euro investment in rural Ireland.
