A new massacre took place this Saturday in the southwest of the country. As confirmed by the authorities, four people were murdered a few minutes from the urban area in the municipality of Morales, Cauca.
In addition to the bodies, which were found with fire wounds in the San Rafael village, the inhabitants of the sector reported a completely incinerated vehicle next to the scene.
“A billboard was also found on the site that spoke of an alleged social cleansing. But the facts are subject to investigation by the authorities,” said Víctor Sabogal, mayor of the municipality.
According to preliminary information that has not been confirmed by Legal Medicine, the bodies would be of two men and two women, all of them of legal age.
This is the second multiple homicide reported in Cauca in less than a week. Last Tuesday, the kidnapping and murder of three young people was reported in the municipality of Mercaderes, in southern Cauca.
Although those responsible for the massacre are unknown, in that area of the department the dissidents of the extinct FARC known as the Second Marquetalia commit crimes.
This becomes the 60th massacre so far in 2022 according to reports from the Institute of Studies for Development and Peace, Indepaz.
