The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) began an investigation for possible federal crimes related to the flooding of the coal mine in the town of Aguijita, municipality of Sabinas, Coahuila, which keeps several miners trapped.
The unit assured that its investigations began last Friday, for which it is already carrying out field criminology tasks, forensic photography, witness interviews, identity of the owner-occupants of the mine or coal pit, and identification of the affected workers.
It also requested from different federal and state agencies information on the various files related to the company that exploits the mine, as well as its owners.
The Mexican Institute of Social Security requested the report of workers registered in said source of work.
To the Ministry of Economy the documents on the concession title of the mine, as well as the name of the natural or legal person to whom it was granted.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare must submit a report on the inspections it has carried out in the mine to verify its work safety parameters, a similar request was made to the local authorities.
The municipal Civil Protection Directorate was asked to submit a report on the inspections carried out at the reference location.
The Undersecretary of Civil Protection of the State of Coahuila requested information on the inspections it has carried out at the scene of the events.
Finally, the Tax Administration Service must deliver a report on the fiscal registry of the owner of the mine.
The Federal Ministerial Police works at the scene, interviewing the workers of the damaged well who emerged unharmed from this tragedy.
“One of the workers provided substantial information about the concessionaire, the foreman, as well as the owner of the property where the mine is located. Said data must be ratified through the corresponding proceedings”, affirmed the FGR.
