Sabinas, Coah. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador arrived around 3:15 p.m. at the El Pinabete mine facilities, where ten workers have been trapped since Wednesday due to a flood.
Coming from the state of Colima, where yesterday and today he made a work tour, the president arrived in a Mexican Air Force plane at the Venustiano Carranza terminal, in the municipality of Frontera, in the central area of the state.
According to federal government sources, López Obrador traveled by helicopter to Nueva Rosita, municipality of San Juan de Sabinas, to later arrive by land at the site’s facilities.
Before leaving, in Colima, the President announced that he would travel to Sabinas to personally review the water extraction works, in preparation for the entry of divers to look for the trapped workers.
Upon arrival at the mine, he was received by the governor of Coahuila, PRI member Miguel Ángel Riquelme.
