Jennete McCurdy who played Sam on the hit Nickelodeon series, “Icarly”, revealed that he rejected an economic offer of 300 thousand dollars, which the company made him, in exchange for not bringing to light the abuses he suffered from producer Dan Schneider.

In her book “I’m glad my mom died”, in which the actress narrates details of her life and her professional career, she recounted some situations that she faced with “The Creator”, who also has complaints of sexual harassment : The producer was fired in 2018 after the rise of the #MeToo movement in which various attacks suffered by actresses in the American industry were exposed.

Let’s remember that McCurry worked in productions for children’s audiences from 2007 to 2014, dates that coincide with the work of Schneider (Drake and Josh, Zoe 101, among others).

Although the book is not yet for sale, an international media had access to the document.

According to the story, three Nick agents offered Jenette 6 million 300 thousand pesos, which she rejected.

“They are offering you three hundred thousand dollars,” said one of Dan Schneider’s workers. “Manager number 2 intervenes […] Well, think of it as a thank you gift.”

The article also reads: “Yes, a thank you gift. They’re giving you $300,000 and all they want you to do is never talk publicly about your Nickelodeon experience. Specifically related to The Creator.”

Faced with the actress’s refusal, the agents insisted on the “given” money, but this only made her angry, to which she replied: “No, it’s not. This is not free money. This seems like money to shut up.”

Despite the fact that there are other types of revelations, the economic offer was what caused the most controversy, as it went viral on social networks.
“I’m glad my mom died” will be released on August 9 and will cost around $575.
