Brown and nose tackle Keeanu Benton are set to attend the race at Road America. The cars can reach speeds of 240 miles per hour on a track such as the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. However, the 14 turns over the 4-mile course at Road America limit the cars to a max of about 190 mph.
“It shows the drivers’ skill,” Brown said. “I couldn’t take a turn at close to 100 miles per hour.”
While Brown was speaking to reporters, McLaughlin was hitting impressive punts inside the McClain Center.
Before showing off his punting leg, McLaughlin noted he hopes to attend a UW game after his season is over. His plan is to be in Camp Randall Stadium on Nov. 26 for the Badgers’ regular-season finale against a rival to the northwest of Madison.
“I want to try to get to the Minnesota game,” he said, smiling, “and get the full experience of it. That will be pretty cool seeing them get the axe back.”
