The anti-COVID-19 booster vaccination for children between the ages of two and 11 began, this Wednesday, in the province of Cienfuegos, to later be extended to the rest of the country, with the Sovereign Plus vaccine, whose owner is the Finlay Institute of Vaccines, as reported in a report by the National Television Newscast.
The objective of the new campaign is to reach the entire population of these ages, before the start of the next school year in September, while those convalescing from the disease and those allergic to thiomersal will also receive the booster, the report said.
During the mass immunization campaign in pediatric ages against SARS-COV-2, carried out between September and November 2021 with the Sovereign 02 and Sovereign Plus vaccines, and the first of its kind in the world, more than 1,800,000 children were vaccinated , girls and adolescents between two and 18 years old.
