Undoubtedly, Luis Jara became one of the most important faces of Mega at the time. The entertainer established himself in Mucho Gusto and at the time they were the undisputed leaders in the mornings.
However, at the time he made the decision to leave the screen. This, due to a series of situations that began to affect him on a personal level.
This was reported by the communicator himself this Sunday in De tú a tú, a conversation space on Channel 13 hosted by Martín Cárcamo, where he spoke at length about his departure from the Vicuña Mackenna channel.
“Social networks were brutal with me,” Jara revealed at the outset. In addition, he recounted a conversation that he had with his wife, Silvana Hasbún, on this point.
“One day she tells me that she doesn’t like that they bother me with my ego. ‘Oh, but it’s a game,’ I tell him. And she tells me: ‘It’s just that people aren’t going to understand it. Having an ego in Chile is not understood, it is understood as an individualistic, selfish, little empathic person, and you are not like that, and this is going to happen to you,’” she recalled.
In fact, over time he began to feel bad, and, as usual, he used humor to get around it. However, there came a time when the situation became unsustainable.
“Even some people who worked on TV and had met me would sit on some TV sets to talk about my ego,” he lamented.
The decision of Luis Jara
For the same reason, it was at that time that he made a drastic decision. “I offered Mega to get off the TV (…) I raised it with the executive director and told him ‘I don’t want any more,’” he said. Then, unpublished, the channel decided to give him seven months permission to recover and then return.
“I got home and I had a good cry, because I let go of a backpack that I had been carrying very hard, very hard. And Silvana told me that she manage those seven months because it is a gift at this moment in my life. And it’s amazing but I didn’t know what to do with my free time, ”she revealed.
For the same reason, and in the midst of his confusion, he traveled to Miami just to rediscover himself. “And in four days all the demons appeared to me. Your fears, your guilt, the bars. I spent four nights with insomnia, four nights crying and four nights practically without eating. Until one day I woke up with a desire: to be free (…) Today I know how to be alone, and it’s spectacular, “he said.
After that, Luis Jara signed his settlement with Mega on December 31, although in very good terms.
“I went down to the car, Silvana asks me how I am. And my tears fell. I closed a cycle in the best way that someone can close it, full of hugs, in peace, calm. And if I’m not on TV, the country continues, my children grow up, nothing happens, nothing happens to the country, to anyone. The only one who cares is this person, me, ”she finished.
