A heavy downpour that fell on Cali on Friday afternoon caused vehicular chaos and flooded roads in some sectors of the city.

Through social networks, users shared videos of how the rainy afternoon unfolded in Cali.

From south to north and from east to west, the people of Cali watched their afternoon pass by on the water.

In the southern part of the hillside of Cali, inhabitants of the Altos de Santa Helena sector even reported hail fall, accompanied by strong winds.

The Vallegrande neighborhood, to the east of the city, presented floods in some of its main streets, reaching up to half of some cars that were parked.

Even at the Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport in Palmira, which provides its airport services to Cali, it was affected by the heavy downpour and relentless winds.

The moment in which, due to the force of the wind, a ladder begins to move from its place was recorded on video. Likewise, a ‘waterfall’ in the middle of one of the waiting rooms for domestic flights, like the fall of several false ceilings from the building.

The Cali Fire Department gave a report on the situations generated by the rain in different parts of the city.

“At the moment we have reports of flooding in the north of the city, from Carrera 34 to the north, Calle 70, we have flooding on public roads. In the east of the city as well, accompanied by strong gusts of wind. At the moment we do not have special news in this place. Heavy rains in the Pance sector, in the southern area of ​​Cali, gusty winds in El Peón, La Vorágine and in the Pance district without any news so far,” explained Corporal Marco Gómez, Coordinator of the Telematics Operations Center of the Cali Fire Department.
