River made two big transfers in the last transfer market that will leave him a significant sum of money in the short and medium term: Julián Álvarez to Manchester City and Enzo Fernández to Benfica. In reality, Julián’s contract was signed at the beginning of the year but it crystallized a few weeks ago, when the Citizens executed the repechage clause and took him away. Enzo’s was somewhat sudden, because many thought he was going to stay until December, but they were numbers that could not be rejected.
This Thursday afternoon/evening, River’s leadership met at the Monumental to celebrate a new meeting of the Board of Directors to deal with various issues related to the hiring of soccer players and also at the exit of some of them. Among different social and institutional issues, the final numbers of the operation with Benfica for the talented midfielder were put on the table.
Within the agreement several edges stand out, but the most important comes from the side of Enzo Fernández himself: the player left River the 15% that corresponded to him from the pass according to the agreement with Argentinian Soccer Players. In all operations, soccer players are entitled to receive 15% of the total amount and Enzo, in the form of gratitude to the club that formed him, decided to “donate” his share to the Millionaire.
Enzo’s final sale numbers
Delving into the sale itself, it was approved that the Nuñez institution sold 75% of the former Defense and Justice midfielder in 10 million euros plus 8 million to collect for objectives. Of the first 10 million, five have already been collected and two installments of 2.5M remain with collection dates of August 31, 2023 and February 28, 2024.
On the other hand, the objectives will be paid as Enzo plays a certain number of matches: the bonuses are 2 million each (totaling 8 million) and will be paid everyWhen he plays 10, 25, 40 and 50 official matches respectively (at least 45 minutes on court).
