The Prosecutor’s Office rescheduled the statement of Colonel PNP Harvey Colchado for Friday, August 12, the date on which he will be questioned as a witness for the cover-up investigation that began against President Pedro Castillo.
The police agent appeared this morning at the Public Ministry around 10:00 am, responding to the summons of the Nation’s prosecutor, Patricia Benavides. However, according to sources Peru21upon arriving at Benavides’ office, he was informed that the procedure would be held next Friday at 11:30 am
The Public Ministry accused Castillo of having obstructed the work of the Police and the special team led by the superior prosecutor Marita Barreto by removing the former Minister of the Interior, Mariano González.

González publicly declared that the president removed him from his post after forming the PNP elite team, led by Colchado, to capture the very nephew Fray Vásquez and the former Minister of Transport and Communications, Juan Silva.
