The doctor Beatriz Gutierrez Muller arrived in Bogota Colombiato attend on behalf of the president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador to the inauguration of Gustavo Petro as the new president of that country.
Gutiérrez Müller was received at the Bogotá airport by the Foreign Minister Martha Lucia Ramirez de Rinconwho wished him the best in his new tasks.
“I have arrived in Bogota! My president Andrés Manuel López Obrador has commissioned me to represent him at the inauguration of the next president, Gustavo Petro, ”he said in a message on his social networks.
“Greetings to all Mexicans who live in this beautiful country, and may tomorrow be a great day for the people of Colombia,” he said.
Heads of State, foreign ministers and other authorities from various countries arrived in Bogotá this Saturday to attend the investiture ceremony of Colombia’s president-elect, Gustavo Petro, a historic event as he is the country’s first left-wing president.
Petro will be accompanied in his possession by a dozen leaders, a list headed by the King of Spain, Felipe VI, whose arrival in Bogotá is scheduled for Sunday morning in the company of Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares.
On the day before his inauguration, the president-elect of Colombia attended, together with Francia Márquez, a “popular and spiritual” investiture ceremony organized by indigenous, Afro and ethnic peoples.
Petro, who has not yet completed his cabinet, also announced the appointment of four other ministers, three of them women, with which he has already made public the names of 12 of the 18 chief ministers.
