The man who went for a stroll within the McGillycuddy Reeks mountains in Kerry and by no means returned to his lodging has been named a missing particular person by Gardai as searches proceed.
Sixty year-old John Dunne is believed to have gone for a hike on a native mountain pathwithin the Lisleibane space of Beaufort, County Kerry on Wednesday June 1st.
Gardai launched an official missing individuals attraction on Thursday night.
In a press release from the Garda Press Office, they mentioned: “Gardaí are appealing to the public for assistance in tracing the whereabouts of 60 year old John Dunne.
“John is described as being roughly 5 foot 6 inches in peak, bald, with a stocky construct and blue eyes.
“When last seen, John was wearing a bright red jacket.
“Anyone with info on John’s whereabouts are requested to contact Killorglin Garda Station on 066 9790500, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
The alarm was raised this morning after Tipperary man John Dunne did not return to his lodging on Wednesday.
All day on Thursday, Kerry Mountain Rescue and Gardai have been conducting a serious search operation.
With inclement climate due within the space this night, the searchers are working onerous to find John.
Kerry Mountain Rescue mentioned: “We are appealing to anyone who may have seen John on the hills yesterday or this morning to please contact Killarney Gardaí on 064 6631222.”
The Rescue 117 helicopter from Waterford has been serving to with the search and groups have been combing the hillsides within the space, alongside common strolling routes.
A spokesperson for the Department of Transport instructed CorkBeo: “The Coast Guard is assisting An Garda Síochána in a search for a person reported missing Carrauntoohil Mountains, Co. Kerry.
“An in a single day search was performed by a Coast Guard helicopter. Kerry Mountain Rescue are additionally taking part within the ongoing search.”
