The General Prosecutor of the Republic (FGR) revealed that since Friday he began an investigation into possible crimes of federal character related to the incident that occurred in the mine shaft of the population of little needleMunicipality of Sabines, Coahuila.
Through a releasethe authority reported that the corresponding work plan was developed with the tasks of criminology field; forensic photography; witness interviews; identity of the owner-occupants of the mine or coal pit; and identification of affected workers.
Also, it was requested Mexican Social Security Institute a report of registered workers in said source of work.
Information was requested from the Ministry of Economy on the concession for the exploitation of coal ore; and, if applicable, the name of the natural or legal person who owns the said concession.
To Secretary of Labor and Social Welfare information was requested about inspections that have been practiced in terms of job securityand the same request was also made to the local authorities.
To Municipal Civil Protection Directorateto report on the inspections carried out at the reference location.
To Undersecretary of Civil Protection of the State of Coahuilathe information on the inspections carried out in said mine.
To the Service tax administrationthe information on the taxpayer registered as the owner or holder of said damaged mining activity.
The Federal Ministerial Police has also interviewed workers at the damaged well and their relatives. In these interviews, one of the workers provided essential information about the concessionaire, the foreman, as well as the owner of the property where the mine is located. Said data must be ratified through the corresponding procedures.
The Prosecutor’s Office highlighted that it maintains communication with the Head of the Investigation Unit of the Public Ministry Agency of the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Coahuila.
Verbal communication has been obtained with the Head of the Federal Labor Representation Officewho has already provided substantial data on the case.
As information of public interest is obtained that can legally be shared, it will be done immediately.
