this sunday in Santiago del Estero Local elections were held in which the citizens elected mayors and councillors. Governor’s Force Gerardo Zamora managed to prevail in 25 of the 26 municipalities.
“Congratulations to all the citizens who once again expressed themselves at the polls in peace and with respect in the cities that today held municipal elections in our province! Congratulations to those who were elected to govern their municipalities for the next 4 years!”the president celebrated late at night through his social networks.
The Civic Front for Santiago won in 25 municipalities, while in the city of La Banda the Renovative and Progressive Front.
With 96.80% of the polling stations counted, in the capital the mayor Norm Sources managed to be re-elected with 45.40% of the votes, taking a wide advantage of more than 20 thousand votes with the candidate of Together for Change, Natalia Neme (28.26%). In third place was Fernando Gimenezcandidate of the Renovating Front, with 8.45% of the vote.
The governor highlighted the re-election of Fuentes and asked all the neighbors “to accompany the management, so that our mayor can develop all the projects that she has that mean more progress, more work and with social peace.” For her part, the mayor said: “A more inclusive city awaits us, with more services, more lighting, drainage, paving, green spaces, more job opportunities and a huge network with which we have been working” .
Fuentes also received congratulations from National Senator Claudia Abdala, who also highlighted “all the community leaders who have won in the rest of the cities of our province.”
From Together for Change, Natalia Neme recognized Fuentes’ victory and maintained that it was “a quiet day” that “was carried out normally”, and in that collision they are “very respectful of what people have chosen”.
After the capital, La Banda is the second city in electoral importance. There, with 76.64% of the tables counted, the communal chief Roger Nediani, of the Renovating and Progressive Front, was re-elected with 36.68% of the votes, leaving Llamil Abdala, the candidate of the Civic Front, in second place. . The Viable Patriotic Front was the third force with 18.33%.
Zamora greeted Nediani and wished him “the best of success.” “These are not easy times for those who govern, in the world, for many reasons, but the important thing is to continue working tomorrow,” he contextualized.
For his part, Nediani thanked the neighbors “for this electoral act” and for continuing to “place their trust in us.” “We will work thinking about the growth of the city”, he said and remarked that he will continue to promote a government with open doors and dialogue, just as “we have been working for years with Pablo Mirolo and now we will do it with Gabriel Santillán”. “Hopes are renewed to continue improving the city,” he pointed out.
While Abdala recognized Nediani’s victory, he congratulated the bandeños for “the enormous civic expression” and expressed that he will continue “working for La Banda, this is not the end, but the beginning of a path that we started.”
“Many thanks to the political activists of the Civic Front for Santiago, for the support and effort made. And my respects and congratulations to those of all the other political expressions, who carried out their proposals in these elections”, closed Zamora at the end of the day, and ratified his “unwavering commitment to continue working with all my strength and together with everyone”. “May God guide us and always enlighten all Santiagueños,” concluded the governor.
