Upon her arrival in Puerto Ordaz this Thursday, the president of the Encuentro Ciudadano (EC) political party, Delsa Solórzano, “reaffirmed” her position for the opposition primaries and commented that she will be “preparing hard” for the 2024 opposition and presidential primaries.
“From EC we have four years preparing for D-day. We are establishing mechanisms to recover the country in all sectors and aspects that are required,” added the president at a press conference.
He commented that from the political party he chairs they are working on the “union” in the Venezuelan opposition and are carrying out different proposals with the political organizations to reach consensus and that they be “open, inclusive primaries and that the Venezuelan diaspora participates” .
A planned second round if necessary, without the technical assistance of the National Electoral Council (CNE) and the participation of the diaspora is the approach of EC.
Solórzano emphasized that he does not agree with the CNE providing technical assistance to the inmates. He explained that there is a risk that the government will use the identity of the voters participating in the primaries to apply political reprisals, especially in the case of public workers.
“We must guarantee the vote of Venezuelans in all the countries of the world. It is necessary to ensure its constitutional guarantees for the primaries and the presidential elections. They also count”, Solórzano added.
Primaries to consolidate unity
As an example of the unification of criteria, representatives of different sectors were present at the press conference and he commented that “it is a demonstration of unity in the country and together they will achieve positive things for the country.”
“We cannot make the mistakes of the past. It’s time to move on. The country is going through a very poor situation and we must get out of it, ”she added.
He ratified once again that to defeat the ruling party “there must be unity in the Venezuelan opposition.”
will continue denouncing
The deputy to the National Assembly of 2015 denounced that “Ciudad Guayana was an example of overcoming companies, however for 23 years there has been evidence of mismanagement that directly affects state companies.”
“All public employees are protesting at this time and we will continue denouncing and accompanying them. These must have the appropriate conditions to provide the service and the salaries do not accompany them, ”he denounced.
Case of Juan Requesens
The former Venezuelan deputy Juan Requesens was sentenced this Thursday to eight years in prison for the crime of conspiracy, before this Solórzano commented that “these abuses must continue to be denounced. These actions that threaten the integrity of those who want to make political changes in the country cannot continue to happen.”
