MÉRIDA.- The state Health Secretariat reported that today, August 4, 2022, 118 new infections of coronavirus in Yucatan. Of these, 59 occurred in Mérida, 13 in Valladolid, 11 in Kanasín, 7 in Umán, 5 in Progreso, Ticul, Tixkokob and Tizimín; as well as one in Acanceh, Halachó, Izamal, Motul, Oxkuztcab, Peto and Tixmehuac. One foreign case was also recorded.
The total reached 135,776 positive cases of Covid in Yucatan, 833 of which are from another country or another state.
Covid deaths in Yucatan
In addition, the agency reported that today there were two more deaths from Covid in Yucatan. Is about a girl four years old, from Oxkutzcab and with immunosuppression, as well as a 73-year-old man with diabetes and hypertension, from Chocholá.
In total they are 6,999 people deceased because of the coronavirus in Yucatan.
Of the active cases, 1,992 are stable, isolated, monitored by SSY medical personnel; have mild symptoms. On the other hand, 27 of the positive cases are in public hospitals and in total isolation. There are other patients awaiting diagnosis.
To date, 126,758 patients have already recovered: they have no symptoms and are not contagious. This figure represents 92% of the total registered infections, which is 135,776. The age range of the cases is from 1 month to 107 years.
