Cuba identified 85 infections of the SARS-CoV-2 virus this Friday, a day in which 96 discharges were notified according to the report published by the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap).
2419 samples were processed with a positivity of 3.5%.
Of the positive ones, 68 correspond to contacts of confirmed cases while in two individuals the virus had been imported. 15 added the patients in whom the cause of the infection was not specified.

The largest number of infections came from the Holguín and Las Tunas provinces, with 20 and 11 cases, respectively. On the contrary, only the Isla de la Juventud Special Municipality was free of new cases.
In total, 749 people remained hospitalized due to COVID-19; of these, 479 were confirmed active cases. The intensive care rooms closed with eight patients reported in serious condition.
By age ranges, infections continue to predominate in those under 20 years of age, with 41 cases on the day. In addition, 18 corresponded to the range between 20 and 39 years old, 12 to 40 to 59 years old and 14 were over 60.
The fatalities of COVID-19 continue to add up to 8,529 since no deaths were reported this day either. The lethality is 0.77%.
