Technology companies such as: Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola, etc., currently manufacture cell phones with batteries that exceed 5 thousand milliamps (mAh), enough for the device to last between 8 to 10 hours of continuous use. Some smartphones with operating system Android they are capable of completing their charge from 0% to 100% in less than thirty minutes, however, the aforementioned practice is not recommended because it would damage the equipment’s battery after rapidly exhausting the charge cycles. What does this mean and why are they so important? From Depor we will explain it below.
You have probably asked yourself the following question: How long can a battery last? telephone? This component deteriorates from the first day you use it, and its useful life is related to “load cycles”.
WHAT IS A CHARGING CYCLE OF YOUR ANDROID PHONE BATTERY
In simple words, the duration of a battery is measured by charging cycles, and this represents the number of times the battery is charged from 0% to 100%, for example: if you charge your cell phone twice a day, the first from 0% to 50% and the second from 50% to 100%, it means that you have just exhausted a charge cycle.
The battery does not necessarily have to be at 0%, since your cell phone can be at 10%, if you charge it up to 20%, you use it again and it reaches 10% again, but this time you charge it from 10% to 100 %, then you have made two charges, one of 10% and another of 90%, in total it is equivalent to 100%, that is, a charge cycle.
It is important to clarify that a battery of 5 thousand mAh or higher usually has between 300 to 500 charge cyclesexceeding this figure, it is likely that the energy will run out in a matter of minutes or in a couple of hours even if it is at 100%, also, in the worst case, the battery could inflate, something very dangerous because if it explodes it would generate a chemical reaction that causes fire and you would run the risk of being burned.
HOW TO KNOW IF THE CHARGER IS COMPATIBLE WITH MY ANDROID SMARTPHONE
- Check your battery power: It is important to know the number of watts and amps of our device. We know that looking for specifications can be tedious, that’s why we recommend you use the GSM Arena website, where all you have to do is put the brand and model of your device to find out what the fast charging capacity of your cell phone is.
- look at the adapter: we refer to the head where the USB cable is connected. There are brands specialized in designing different types of chargers, it is important to know the version of the USB port and the power they emit, to be sure of compatibility with fast charging.
- loading port: Currently, the vast majority of smartphones have a built-in USB Type-C port. Gone are the phones with micro USB cables, although they are still used to charge wireless headphones and video game controls compatible with the Android system.
- wireless chargers: Although they are present in most high-end phones, new mid-range releases have started to incorporate this technology. The output power of the bases intended for battery charging must be verified to see if they are compatible with the fast charge that our device supports.
- original charger: the price is usually high, but it is worth making that investment. Buying the charger and cable from the manufacturer ensures better battery care. Generic adapters only transfer power and often do not support fast charging. Also, they end up damaging our team’s power unit.
