Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) attended the Benito Juárez Universities for Welfare general evaluation event in Armería, Colima. During his speech, the national president endorsed his commitment to health programs, as well as support for older adults and young people.
“There is something that perhaps is not well known, one of the constitutional reforms that we managed to establish is that the program for the elderly, the disability program, scholarships for students should be delivered as rights whoever is in government” reiterated the chief executive.
Likewise, he explained to the attendees that the budget for these initiatives will not be reduced after his departure from the presidency. This is because a transitional constitutional article prevents it.
In the same way, he assured that “It has already been guaranteed that these rights are in the Constitution”, since to achieve a new reform, it is necessary to have two thirds of votes in favor.
During the event in Colima, the president of the nation also promised to increase the amounts of support granted to different sectors of the population.
