A man was rushed to hospital in a critical condition after he fell four storeys when the cherry picker he was in collapsed in Sydney’s south on Saturday.
Emergency services were called to an apartment block in Allawah about 12.30pm to reports a maintenance worker was trapped after the vehicle toppled over.

The man – believed to be aged in his 30s – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and placed in an induced coma, before being taken to St George Hospital in a critical condition.
Witness Andrew Collington, who contacted triple zero, said he heard a loud bang before seeing the basket had crashed onto the ground with the man inside it.
He said he tried to keep the man calm while he waited for paramedics to arrive.
“He wasn’t conscious, but he was clearly trying to move a little,” Collington told reporters at the scene.
“It was a really loud bang … the basket had fallen a long way and crashed onto the ground with the guy inside it.”
NSW Ambulance acting Inspector Andrew Bibby said the man, who had been painting eaves on the apartment block, fell about four storeys.
